Today, the New England Chapter of the Door Hardware Institute (DHI) celebrated the career Merit Award presented by the DHI national committee to Cheryl Orsi, Senior Customer Relations Manager at Software for Hardware, LLC. According to DHI, “The Merit Award is reserved for any individual that has provided outstanding contributions to the advancement of the aims and objectives of the DHI and the industry.”
Lisa Oxman, co-owner, Software for Hardware commented, “Every day we see the amazing level of dedication and industry expertise Cheryl shares with our customers. Many people possess decades of industry experience, but few are as willing and enthusiastic as Cheryl to share their knowledge and help industry colleagues.” Dick Shiers, owner, New England Building Components, shared similar thoughts, “Cheryl’s dedication, integrity, and contribution to the industry certainly deserve recognition and I fully support her receiving the DHI’s prestigious Award of Merit.”
Cheryl joined Software for Hardware in 2018 and applied her decades of experience in the door industry to supporting door distributors as they implement and use software technology to improve the efficiency and profitability of their businesses. Ian Oxman, co-owner, Software for Hardware added, “Our customers are fortunate to have immediate access to someone of such immense industry knowledge and wisdom. We continually encourage SFH customers to call and learn from Cheryl.”
With Cheryl’s award, Software for Hardware, becomes the only technology provider in the commercial door distributor industry to have two employees recognized with industry achievement awards. In 2018, DHI recognized John Petersen, founder, Software for Hardware, for over twenty years of dedication to developing software to help distributors improve their business operations. Petersen introduced Software for Hardware in 1996 as one of the first software tools designed specifically for door distributors. Petersen continues to contribute his innovation and experience to Software for Hardware product development.
Success in the door, frame and hardware business requires staff with deep expertise, loyal relationships and access to effective resources. This applies to both distributors and the partner companies that work with and support distributors. Software for Hardware takes great pride in the respected industry professionals we employ,” commented Lisa Oxman.
