Day to day life can get hectic. Managing where, when and how to use your short window of time effectively can facilitate improvements on work tasks and amplify overall life. Being organized does not guarantee productivity, if you overanalyze goals you could ultimately waste valuable time. But, for most people, door frame and hardware professionals included, staying on track and sticking to an agenda, can help, for work-life time management success.
Experts suggest the following as the most effective strategies for using time wisely: 1. Set time limits for the tasks at hand, 2. Take short and consistent breaks 3. Remove the non-essentials, 4. Prioritize the most important tasks.
Setting time limits for each task will allow you to stay on track and decrease any procrastination. If it takes 6 hours to complete a large tasks, break it up into two tasks and give yourself a time frame of completion.
Incorporating a brief break from tasks, that involves staying concentrated, alleviates the feeling of overworking and just going through the motions. Clearing your mind and allowing time to relax will allow projects to be done accurately and probably more efficiently. Mental breaks are not only beneficial to work life but are an idea that can improve personal goals as well.
If you need to conduct a door, frame and hardware inventory, but also plan on purchasing new decor for the office, then certainly prioritize the warehouse inventory work ahead of the new office decor. To put it simply, don’t waste time on things that don’t matter in the big picture.
Often using a time management software, or other tools, even an old school organizing notebook, can help you manage your time more wisely. Forbes magazine recently wrote on this point and recommended to often start with the project that requires more time to complete.
